You Can Help: The 2012 University of Baltimore Food Drive to Benefit the Maryland Food Bank and the Lawyers’ Campaign Against Hunger is now underway! Welcome to all who plan to participate in UB student organizations' goal of besting last year's record-setting 10,000 canned or nonperishable food items, collected throughout the fall semester.
Like the campaign says: You can help. Bring your donation to the clearly marked boxes around campus, or donate to the campaign online—see below for details.
Your support of this University-wide food drive will help the Maryland Food Bank feed the more than 460,000 Marylanders who aren’t sure where their next meal is coming from. Our collective efforts will benefit children, seniors and those in the Maryland Food Bank's fastest-growing demographic of need—working adults and families who are just above the federal poverty line and are struggling to make ends meet.
Drop off your food items at any of the designated collection points in the University’s main buildings (see locations below). There will be marked boxes for you to use, as well as tables staffed with volunteers to assist you.
The Maryland Food Bank has designated the following items as "most needed" in its ongoing efforts to help families (please note that, due to concerns about breakage, items in glass containers are not acceptable):
Meat and protein
Breads and cereals
Fruits and vegetables
Dairy foods
Non-food items
In addition to donating in person, you can also participate in our food-raising drive through the Maryland Food Bank's Web site. Make an online donation today!
Drop-off boxes for the drive are located throughout the University, in office suites and public areas:
