Software for Faculty & Staff

Microsoft Products

Faculty and Staff can obtain Microsoft applications for home use through two different programs; Loaner program or the Software For Personal Use program. Through the Loaner program, the user borrows the license from UB to install the application on their home system with the intent to work on UB related documents only. The application(s) must be removed from the user’s system once their employment at UB is terminated. The Software for Personal Use program enables the user to outright purchase selective applications for their home systems or laptops.

Loaner Program

The University of Baltimore "Work at Home" policy provides an opportunity for Faculty and Staff members to install an additional copy of selected Microsoft software products on their home computer or portable PC. Eligible Software products include Microsoft Office Professional, Visual Studio Professional, or any of their component products, regardless of version.

How do I obtain installation media for the software loaner program?

Faculty and staff members may purchase the installation media through the UB distribution partner e-academy using a Visa or Master Card credit card. CD’s ordered through e-academy will be delivered to the address specified at time of purchase.

Software for Personal Use - Purchases

UB faculty and staff may purchase Microsoft and Adobe products at significantly reduced prices. The software purchased through this program is a permanent license you own directly and is not restricted to terms of your employment at UB. Visit our distribution partner, e-academy, to purchase the software using your Visa or MasterCard. Installation media will be shipped to the mailing address supplied at the time of purchase. Please note that only the CDs required for installation will ship, not the entire shrink-wrap boxed set of media and manuals.

Other Programs

Faculty and staff may also take advantage of Academic Pricing available on select software products at the University Bookstore.
