Paying for Parking FAQs

  • How much does it cost to park during weekends?

The same rates are in effect seven days a week. See information about parking costs.

  • I have some funds left in my account from a previous semester. Can I still use these funds?

Any funds remaining on your card will continue to be available for use with no action on your part.

  • I don't drive to campus very often but would like to have the convenience of a parking access card. What is the least amount that I can deposit?

    The minimum deposit is $20.

Your Bee Card Is Your Parking Access Card

  • How can I add funds to my existing parking access card?

You can select one of three methods:
    1. Log into your parking account. Add funds using a credit or debit card.
    2. Add funds using cash or a credit or debit card at the University of Baltimore Office of Parking and Shuttle Management, 1104 Maryland Ave., during business hours.
    3. Charge funds to your student account. Note that this option is available only prior to the start of the semester, before financial aid has been disbursed. The parking funds you opt to apply to your student account will be paid to the University along with your tuition.
  • How do I apply for a refund of the remaining balance on my parking card?

The online form is available on the student parking account Web siteduring the refund periods. Approval for a refund is dependent on the student's full repayment of any other outstanding UB account balances. To apply for a refund, follow these steps:
    1. Sign into your parking account using your University of Baltimore e-mail address and password.
    2. Click on the "Refund" icon.
    3. Complete the application, including the first five digits of your parking access card

You can continue to use your parking access card during the refund application period.

  • What if I forget my Bee Card?

If you forget your Bee Card, park at the Maryland Avenue or Fitzgerald garages, where you can pay the credit/debit/cash rates at the cashier; you must present your current semester schedule and your driver's license or state-issued ID to receive the UB credit/debit/cash rates.

  • What happens if I lose my Bee Card?

Contact UB's parking office at 410.837.6573 or parking@ubalt.edu to put a hold on your parking account until you are able to pick up your replacement card at the Bee Card office in Academic Center 105.

  • Do I need to take my Bee Card with me when I leave the parking facility??

Yes. Without your Bee Card, you will not be able to access the garages after they close. Your Bee Card provides access to the Maryland Avenue Garage's pedestrian entrance on Biddle Street and to the Fitzgerald Garage pedestrian entrance near the drive-in entrance, even after normal operating hours.

Parking in UB Facilities

  • I understand that if I decide not to buy a semester parking plan that I may pay a flat $5 per park. What is the procedure to park?

You'll need to pull a ticket and show your Bee Card to receive the $5 rate at the cashier's booth, which you can pay in cash, credit/debit or Bee Card funds. Check the cashier hours, as the cashier will be needed to validate the $5 rate.

  • I need to enter or exit the garage after it has closed. How can I do that?

  • I pulled a ticket when I entered the garage, but I lost it. What will I pay?

If you have your Bee Card, then you are eligible to pay the student credit/debit/cash rate of $5. If you do not have valid documentation to verify that you are a student, you will need to pay the prevailing all day commercial rate.

  • What if I leave my car overnight and do not have an unlimited plan?

The University does not permit overnight storage of personal vehicles. Long-term storage (beyond a 72-hour period) is not available. Short-term storage for personal vehicles can be arranged by contacting parking@ubalt.edu. Additional charges are applied for each day that the car remains parked (a new day begins at 12:01 a.m.). This does not apply to student with unlimited parking plans.
